Shipping & Receiving Position

Job Function: 

Prepare, load and unload shipments for customers, while maintaining a clean work environment. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Receive and unload incoming materials from various customers.  Compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.  Inspect incoming material to verify accuracy according to type and quantity.  Inform supervisor or management of any problems or discrepancies.
  2. Prepare shipments for customers.  Weigh and package parts to ensure safe delivery.  Verify that the parts match the purchase order and/or packing slip according to type and quantity.  Assure customer orders are packaged and shipped in a timely fashion.  Load outgoing shipments onto trucks.
  3. Accurately fill out paperwork for parts being shipped and received.  Be aware of the time each job will be picked up.  Have all the paperwork ready before the driver arrives.  Ensure the driver has all of their parts before leaving the dock.  Turn in delivery documentation to main office.
  4. Operate tow motor in loading and unloading supplies and equipment.  Operate the tow motor safely, being careful of the surroundings. 

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Stage the various jobs as they come into the shop. 
  2. Ensure the machinists have the materials they need.
  3. Maintain a clean work environment throughout the shop. 
  4. Load and empty the centerfuge. 
  5. Perform other company related duties as required.
  6. Observe all safety and health regulations

  1. Complete work in a timely manner according to departmental schedules.
  2. Able to communicate and work with others as a team.
  3. Strong attention to detail.
  4. Ability to multitask.
  5. Excellent customer service skills.
  6. Proficient organizational skills.
  7. Good work attendance and dependability.
Able to grow with the department and take on new responsibilities as required.
